I was impressed with what I have seen from the literature. It seems to have similar functionality to my Outback Skybox at about the same price point. Sol Ark has a higher AC output and is capable of AC coupling whereas AC coupling is only promised in the future for the Skybox. As far as I can tell the load shifting capability for a grid tie situation is also more robust that the Skybox.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012 -
This one hour webinar video by a Sol- Ark engineer manager seems to do a goos comparison of different systems.
And here is an unboxing from a professional:
I am new to all this so what is your professional opinion after watching the webinar and the unboxing?Last edited by luisenriquereyes; 09-29-2019, 08:50 PM.Comment

Well, you got one opinion and even that opinion hasn't used one and I am not a professional. Buy one and let us know what you think.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012Comment

I say it's all marketing BS, and goes downhill from there.
First. It is NOT a solar generator. Our solar system contains exactly 1 solar generator in it, a star called Sol.
It's a batch of PV collection panels. charge controller, battery & inverter.
Other than their claims of better / faster / cheaper / sexier - it's just like the others making the same claims.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

The Sol Ark seems like quite a flexible unit with, load sharing, zeroing the meter, sending excess power to a breaker that can say heat water.Comment
